First held in May 1970, UJA’s Walk with Israel, which will celebrate its 49th year on Sunday, May 27th 2018, has become the signature, and largest event of its kind in Toronto’s Jewish community. Transforming the streets of downtown Toronto into a veritable sea of blue and white, and red and white, the 2017 Walk reached record heights with an estimated 20,000 people participating as volunteers or walkers, providing our community with a collective voice to demonstrate our solidarity with, and love for, the people of Israel.

UJA's Walk with Israel takes place on Sunday, May 27th, 2018, rain or shine! Pre-Walk festivities, Registration, and Walk Package Pickups start at 9am. Begin Walking at 10am promptly. The Run begins at 9:45 am, 15 minutes before the Walk start.

For the fourth consecutive year, UJA is offering the Run with Israel along the Walk with Israel route. The Run begins at 9:45 am, 15 minutes before the Walk start. Runners need to register as a runner for the event, and pay the registration fee for runners. To easily register Click Here.

The Walk begins at Coronation Park in downtown Toronto and follows a scenic route through the streets of lower Toronto, ending up at the Renee & Irwin Nadal Festival.

This year’s Walk with Israel route will be taking you through the streets of downtown Toronto, as you proudly walk with thousands of community members and supporters. The 2018 route will be posted shortly, but in the meantime Check out the 2017 Route.

Unfortunately not. For safety reasons, the City of Toronto does not allow bikes, rollerblades, or any wheeled device aside from accessibility devices or strollers along charity event routes. There will be lots of children walking and we wouldn't want any small toes to get hurt, so please abide by this rule to ensure everyone has a safe Walk.

Registration for this year’s Walk is purely online. You can only register online using the 'Register' button above. Registration packages will be available for Walkers on the morning of the event, but you will not receive a charitable donation receipt.

This year's participants will be able to register as a Walker, Runner, or Volunteer on one site, rather than with separate Walk and Run sites. All returning Walkers and Volunteers from the 2017 event can easily register Runners, regardless if they registered for the 2017 Run or not, will need to register as new participants for this year's event.

Walkers, Runners and Volunteers for the 2017 Walk will be able to login with their previous credentials for this year's event. If you did not register as a Walker, Runner or Volunteer in 2017 you will need to create a new account.

All Walk participants require a lanyard. You will receive a lanyard either by fundraising a minimum of $18, or by purchasing a registration package. Registration packages will go on sale after Passover.

Yes, there is a tiered registration fee for the Run. Registration is $40 until Monday April 2nd, $50 until Monday April 30th, and $60 until Sunday May 20th at 8pm.

Your Walk registration supports the UJA-funded programs and services that are making a positive difference in Sderot, Bat Yam, and Eilat/Eilot, and connects you to the thousands of other Torontonians who are also walking the Walk to celebrate Israel and Jewish culture. All registered Walker must raise a minimum of $18 to receive a Walk lanyard. We encourage you to raise additional funds, making you or your team eligible for Fundraising Rewards.

Runners receive some unique items that will not be offered to general Walk participants, such as an exclusive Run t-shirt made of quick-dry sport material, and additional race items like a bib, time tracker, meal deal voucher, finisher medal, and more exciting items to be announced shortly. You will also get free access to the Renee & Irwin Nadal Festival. All fundraising participants are eligible for Fundraising Rewards.

Yes, however we strongly suggest registering in advance of the Walk to avoid long lines and give you the opportunity to raise money for Israel and receive additional incentives and rewards by earning various fundraising rewards. In addition, we cannot guarantee Walk swag for registrations the day of the event. There will be no registration for Runners and Volunteers the morning of the event.

Your personal fundraising page is where your family and friends will go to sponsor your participation. It is where you will make your personal pitch for support, state your fundraising goal, and post your profile picture. Visitors will be able to see who has sponsored you already. To make changes to this page, go to your Participant Centre after registering for the event.

Anyone who participated in the Run or Walk with Israel in 2017 will have all of their contacts available in their 2018 Participant Centre. This includes both people who sponsored you and contacts that you uploaded yourself.

There is no limit to the number of emails you can send. In fact, the more emails you send the more likely you are to receive donations, and reach your fundraising goal.

Yes. The fundraising system can import addresses from Gmail and Yahoo automatically. Other email programs or clients require you to use a CSV. If you're still having problems, please contact us at

Changing your fundraising message, goal and photo for your personal fundraising page is easy! When you are logged in, the Participant Centre will guide you through how to make these changes.


You can enter offline donations on your personal fundraising page, and then proceed to do one of the following:
1. Drop off cash and cheques at UJA’s offices at 4600 Bathurst Street during regular business hours (9am - 4pm).
2. Mail your cheques to UJA with an enclosed offline donation form so we can credit the donations to your personal fundraising page. NOTE: Please do not mail cash. UJA cannot be held responsible for lost cash that has been mailed.
3. Bring donations to the Walk with an enclosed offline donation form.

We encourage your supporters to make their donations through your personal fundraising page or team fundraising page. Alternatively, credit card donations can also be listed on your offline donation form and we will be able to assist. Please be sure to include the CVV so we can process these donations.

As long as you include an offline donation form, UJA will be able to attribute all offline credit card, cheque, and cash donations to your personal and/or team fundraising page. Without an offline donation form, donations received will be considered general donations.

Offline donations will be posted to your profile within 5-7 business days of the funds being received by UJA.

You can do both. In order for offline donations to be included in the calculation of any potential Fundraising Rewards they must be received by UJA by Sunday May 27th 11:55pm Toronto time.

Yes, all donation receipts will be sent out by UJA. Please ensure you have properly filled in the donor's email address and mailing address on the offline donation form to ensure they receive their donation receipt.

Yes you will. However, if you receive any Fundraising Rewards, this may impact your eligibility for a donation receipt. Donation receipts issued at time of donation may be modified or voided by UJA based on any prizes awarded at the end of the Walk in order to adhere to CRA guidelines.


UJA issues donation receipts for all donations made to UJA’s Walk with Israel. Online donations receive receipts immediately following a confirmed donation, while offline donation receipts will be emailed to the donor. If no email address was given for offline donations, a physical donation receipt will be mailed.

UJA’s Walk with Israel relies on hundreds of volunteers to make the event a success. Register online, and select the Volunteer option to begin. You'll be asked to select a Volunteer shift and a training session. Volutneers can also raise money to help fund UJA's programs and services in Israel, and are eligible for Fundraising Rewards.

No previous experience is necessary to be a volunteer with UJA’s Walk with Israel.

Yes. We ask that all volunteers offer a minimum of 4 hours for the event, so we can ensure proper staffing and safety.

Of course you can – it would make the day more fun. Feel free to volunteer with whomever you’d like.

Yes. Following your volunteer shift a UJA professional will provide you with the necessary documentation for your school or institution.

Yes. Volunteers must be a minimum age of 16. There is no maximum age for volunteers.

Yes, you do. Please spend the minute to sign up, so we know how many people we have already, and how many more we need.

Family members are welcome to join you as long as they are over the age of 16, and sign up to volunteer. All volunteers are required to sign up online.

Unfortunately not. Pets are not permitted on the route, as per city guidelines.

Unfortunately not. There is no baggage storage, and you will be responsible for all of your belongings.


Baggage check will not be available at the Walk for any participants. Please leave your personal items with a friend who is walking or bring a running pouch or pocket to keep your personal items safe while you run.

Yes. Each runner will be given a bib to wear with the pickup of the runner kit (details to be communicated to each registered runner closer to the event). Your bib must be worn on the front and be visible at all times. Your bib represents your proof of registration for the Run. Anyone found running or on the route without a bib will be asked to leave. Please note - race bibs will not be available on race day.

Runners must be a minimum of 13 years of age.

There are a number of surrounding parking lots including underground parking at the Enercare Centre and at Exhibition Place. Please pay attention to parking signs so you do not get a ticket.


By default your team and individual fundraising pages are accessible to the public, and can be searched through UJA’s Walk with Israel fundraising system. If you would like to change this, visit your Participant Centre, click on the "Personal Page" tab, and then click the "URL Settings" link. Here you can toggle your page between Public and Private. In Private, people can still donate to your page but only if you send them the link.

Yes. When making a donation donors have the option to display their name and amount, only their name, only their amount or no information. The person or team being sponsored will still have access to the donor information to be able to thank them, however their information will not be displayed on the website.
